Major change for American Idol auditions

There's a major change coming to the American Idol reboot and fans may not be happy about it! The show will no longer start off by airing terrible auditions from contestants unqualified for the show.

"It doesn't feel comfortable to put borderline unstable people up on stage and laugh at them," showrunner Trish Kinane told reporters.

"That makes us work harder as a judging panel," Luke Bryan adds. "Because there are a few years where you don't remember those contestants, we don't want it to go that way. We want it to go right back to what it was known for."

Not all terrible auditions are a lost cause. Aside from being entertaining and laughable for viewers, some contestants remained memorable. William Hung was made a celebrity after his performance of "She Bangs" went viral.

The new season of American Idol premieres Sunday, March 11 with judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie.
