When you drive by a road crew, think of just how dangerous that job can be. Crews working in Newton County, Georgia experienced a bridge collapse that they were working on removing. Around 5:30pm Tuesday, subcontractors (B & D Concrete Cutting Inc.) for Georgia Bridge and Concrete were sawing and demolishing the first of four bridge spans on the now active Access Road replacement project near I-20 Exit 88. One of the spans came loose and hit three workers, killing one. The names of the victim and those hit were sent to the hospital but their names are not being released right now.
