Alan Jackson revealed that he is battling a nerve disorder that affects his ability to walk and balance. Jackson spoke with Jenna Hager Bush on the Today Show and said that he has Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, which is a degenerative nerve condition. This isn't news to Jackson, who has known of his condition for years. âI have this neuropathy and neurological disease. Itâs genetic and I inherited it from my daddy.â Jackson said. âItâs getting more and more obvious,â he said. âI know Iâm stumbling around on stage. And now Iâm having a little trouble balancing, even in front of the microphone.â Jackson continued say it's, âvery uncomfortable.â
Jackson has no plans to quit any time soon. âIâve never wanted to do the big retirement tour, like people do, then take a year off and come back. I think thatâs kinda cheesy. Iâm not saying I wonât be able to tour. Iâll try to do as much as I can.â
