Alan Jackson revealed that he is battling a nerve disorder that affects his ability to walk and balance. Jackson spoke with Jenna Hager Bush on the Today Show and said that he has Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, which is a degenerative nerve condition. This isn't news to Jackson, who has known of his condition for years. “I have this neuropathy and neurological disease. It’s genetic and I inherited it from my daddy.” Jackson said. “It’s getting more and more obvious,” he said. “I know I’m stumbling around on stage. And now I’m having a little trouble balancing, even in front of the microphone.” Jackson continued say it's, “very uncomfortable.”

Jackson has no plans to quit any time soon. “I’ve never wanted to do the big retirement tour, like people do, then take a year off and come back. I think that’s kinda cheesy. I’m not saying I won’t be able to tour. I’ll try to do as much as I can.”
