Women Of iHeartCountry Share Who Welcomed Them Into Country Music

Women impact us every day and they impact each other in so many ways! Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert and Hillary Scott, of Lady A, spoke with "Spencer and Kristen" on International Women's Day. When asked, "who was the woman that extended her hand to you in country music?" the names began to fly off their tongues. Ballerini mentioned listening to Shania Twain as a young girl then having Shania welcome her on stage to do songs together. Ballerini included Taylor Swift and Alison Krauss to her list.

Miranda Lambert went even deeper in country music lore when she told a story about going to Loretta Lynn's home to talk music and make eggs. "Loretta had me over, we made eggs and talked about life and men!" Lambert also mentioned Reba McEntire, who many others have as well, as the woman who made coming into the music industry.

"Spencer and Kristen" also asked Hillary Scott, "what women in country do you absolutely love right now?" and her answer was incredible! Scott gave love to Kelsea Ballerini, Mickey Guyton and newcomer, Ingrid Andress. Scott also talked about Carly Pearce and her new album, "29." Pearce ended her short marriage to Michael Ray last year and gave everything to this album. Scott said the album is so real and gave her the ability to talk about the hardest part of her life.
