Ice Cream Thief Becomes Stranded, 20 Feet Up, After Climbing a Fence

A man in New York City found himself stranded after stealing ice cream. Police were called about a robbery, at a small 'Mom and Pop' store, over eight pints of Haagen-Dazs ice cream. Witnesses said the man casually walked into the store then stuffed the pints under his coat. Several pints fell while he was fleeing the store. Police began a pursuit which caused the thief to climb a fence and when he came down, there was no landing area but instead, the side of a building. The thief was stranded 20 feet up on a small electrical box, while a staircase was below.
