According the the Washington Post, China plans to roll out a new method of testing for Coronavirus. China has begun using anal swabs to test those it considers to be at high risk of contracting Covid-19, state TV has reported. Li Tongzeng, a senior doctor from Beijing’s Youan hospital says that "the virus can live longer in the anal tract than in the respiratory tract." Some small local outbreaks were reported and are now being shut down. During the research of the outbreak, scientist determined that the infected areas were mainly using nose swabs compared to this method.
