Spare us the jokes, they've all been made this morning. A lawmaker in Tennessee has put forward a bill that would give Dolly Parton a statue in her home state. State Representative John Mark Windle, a Democrat, on Tuesday (Jan. 13) introduced a Bill for the creation of a statue in Nashville in honor of the country legend and her lifelong contribution to the arts and philanthropy. Should it get the go-ahead, the statue would be located on the Capitol grounds, facing in the direction of Ryman Auditorium.
