Craig Morgan suing life jacket company

Craig Morgan has filed a lawsuit against the makers of the life preserver his 19-year-old son Jerry was wearing when he drowned in a tubing accident in a Tennessee lake last summer.   According to papers obtained by Gossip Cop, Craig and his wife Karen are suing the manufacturer, a subsidiary and the store that sold Jerry the jacket, saying it was not Coast Guard approved but looked similar to those that were approved. The papers also indicate that the manufacturers and retailers did not alert the general public that the life jacket would not keep the wearer afloat.  The Morgans are asking for $40 million in damages.  Monday was the first anniversary of Jerry's death.
