Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales led the worst Memorial Day weekend at the box office in 18 years. The fifth flick in the Johnny Depp franchise earned $77 million between Friday and Monday. That's the worst opening for a Pirates of the Caribbean movies since the first one in 2003.
Baywatch didn't help the weekend take much. The TV update, starring Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron, debuted in third with only $23 million.
Meanwhile, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 remained in second with $25.2 million. That raised its total to $338.5 million, and put it past the original flick's gross.
Alien: Covenant dropped from first to fourth with $13.2 million, a 64 percent drop from last weekend.
And the romance Everything, Everything fell from third to fifth with $7.4 million.
