Keith Urban revealed details about his 13th studio record, a yacht rock album, on Wednesday morning (April 29).

The Grammy-winning country star, 58, confirmed his 11-track project will arrive in June. Urban’s upcoming album, Flow State, “revisits the breezy, laid-back sounds of classic yacht rock tunes for a reinvigorated collection of the timeless songs that will have us lathering up the sunscreen and blending drinks all summer long,” states a press release issued Wednesday. Urban teamed up with Dann Huff to produce Flow State, which features collaborations with Little Big Town, Michael McDonald and John Mayer. Flow State “evokes a carefree nostalgia,” and “is an easygoing seaside soundtrack that brings the good vibes.”

“The origins of this kind of music was, in certain ways, a reaction and an antidote to the stresses of the times,” Urban said in a statement. “Its sole mission (and soul mission) is unchanged…to bring us together and remind us that life is happening NOW- the eternal now- and we have far more in common than not. I hope wherever you hear this album you can feel the exhale, comfort and optimism these songs were originally written by and for.

“Flow State started as a fun little project and somehow turned into a full-fledged album,” he added in a caption on Instagram. “It features 10 covers of some of my all-time favorite yacht rock songs, along with incredible collaborations with John Mayer and Little Big Town, PLUS one original track, ‘We Go Back,’ with the legendary Michael McDonald. You can hear that one everywhere now, along with ‘Summer Breeze.’”

Urban teased Flow State last month at the annual Country Radio Seminar (CRS) in Nashville, Tennessee. He said at the time, “it’s the first time I’ve done an album of covers,” apart from one track. “It’s a thematic record (of) yacht rock songs,” he continued, noticing the crowd’s surprised reaction. “You think I’m kidding? I’m not kidding.”

Urban, who made an appearance on The Bobby Bones Show on Wednesday morning, will release Flow State on June 12.
