Colbie Caillat teamed up with powerhouse artists and longtime friends of hers on a collaborative project that blends new originals with “reimagined versions of her greatest hits.”
Caillat released This Time Around, produced by Jimmy Robbins and Eric Arjes, on Friday (September 26). some of the artists featured with Caillat include Maren Morris, Lady A’s Hillary Scott, Lee Brice, Chris Young, Maddie & Tae and more. The album “celebrates the enduring charm of her songwriting while introducing fresh creative partnerships across country, pop, and soul,” per a press release issued earlier this week.
“This album means so much to me,” Caillat said in a statement. “I wanted to revisit the songs that shaped my journey while also sharing new ones that reflect who I am today and doing it with friends and artists I admire made the process even more special.” She added that “Maren has one of my all-time favorite voices I’ve ever heard and now have had the privilege to sing with. I was introduced to her through my producer, Jimmy, and the coolest part is that Maren chose ‘Fallin’ For You’ to sing on. It turned out even more special than I could have imagined.”
Some of the artists featured on the project have also shared what Caillat’s music has meant to them. Morris noted in the release that she’s covered Caillat’s music since she was 17 years old, so the collaboration was “a full circle giddiness moment. She has one of the most warm, soulful voices I got to blend with, and it turned out so beautifully.”
