Two Toby Keith albums will arrive next month.
A newly-compiled collection of 13 Number Ones will arrive on October 4. The announcement of the two new collections of Keith’s music arrived the same week Toby Keith: American Icon aired. The star-studded special included Trace Adkins, Priscilla Block, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Jordan Davis, Scotty Emerick, Brantley Gilbert, Riley Green, HARDY, Tyler Hubbard, Jamey Johnson, Krystal Keith, Ella Langley, Mac McAnally, Ashley McBryde, Parker McCollum, Jelly Roll, Darius Rucker, Carrie Underwood, Clay Walker and Lainey Wilson. Toby Keith: American Icon supported The Toby Keith Foundation’s OK Kids Korral and Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt with a portion of the proceeds, per a previously-issued press release. The show also included footage of Keith’s final vocal recording, a rendition of “Ships That Don’t Come In” for HARDY’s DIFFTAPE, serving as a tribute to Joe Diffie. Luke Combs also appears on the track, saying it “was a no-brainer” to perform a song with Keith, and “it now be Toby's last recording is kind of hard to put into words.”
Earlier this year, Keith “passed peacefully…surrounded by his family,” following a battle with stomach cancer. He was 62. He’s survived by his wife, Tricia Lucus, and three children, Shelley Covel Rowland, Krystal Keith and Stelen Keith Covel.
