Country music standouts Kenny Chesney, Mac McAnally, Alan Jackson, and Zac Brown Band took the stage at the 57th Annual Country Music Association Awards at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennesee, to pay tribute to the late, great Jimmy Buffett.
The spotlight shone on Chesney and McAnally as they performed a sentimental cover of "A Pirate Looks at Forty" before Jackson and a barefoot Brown ignited the crowd with Buffett classic, "Margaritaville." The entire arena chanted "salt, salt, salt" as photos of the late legend surrounded the stage.
Beloved music icon Jimmy Buffett, known for his undeniable island-time tales and lyrics that had listeners wishing they were somewhere on a beach, passed away on September 1, 2023, at the age of 76. Buffett was responsible for world-renowned hits like "Cheeseburger In Paradise," "Come Monday," and many more.
Aside from asking Jimmy Buffett what he would do if it were "5 O'Clock Somewhere," Alan Jackson recently announced a new contest on his Instagram account, giving fans the opportunity to win a signed Honky Tonk Christmas vinyl and a brand new Victrola record player.
Just last week, Chesney announced his 2024 Sun Goes Down Tour with special guests Zac Brown Band, Uncle Kracker, and Megan Moroney. Zac Brown Band will release their highly-anticipated From the Road, Vol. 1: Covers album on November 10, featuring a handful of iconic classic rock and country covers performed on tour over the last decade.
Others taking the stage at the 57th Annual CMA Awards include Carly Pearce, Chris Stapelton, Dan + Shay, Cody Johnson, Lainey Wilson, Kelsea Ballerini, Jelly Roll, Zac Brown Band, and more!
