Carly Pearce credits Kenny Chesneyâs mom for the opportunity to take the stage with the âBeer In Mexicoâ artist.
Pearce is hitting the road on Chesneyâs âHere and Now Tour,â along with Dan + Shay and Old Dominion. She shared a story during a recent fan Q&A, reflecting a unique âmeet and greetâ story from the first night of the nationwide trek. Her record label shared Pearceâs recollection of the heartwarming moment:
â(Chesneyâs) like, âHey, can you come to my bus? I need you to meet somebody.â And I walked up there, and (meet) the cutest, tiniest little woman, and it was his mother, and she was like, âKenny just loves you and I love your music, and Iâm just so happy that youâre out here.â And whatâs funny about that is, she said to him on opening night, âYouâre gonna sing with him arenât you?â And I was like, âI donât know, am I?â And now I sing with him.â
Pearce has teamed up with Chesney to sing Grace Potterâs part on âYou and Tequila,â one of the tracks on Chesneyâs Hemingwayâs Whiskey album that released in 2010. That collection also included fan-favorites like âThe Boys of Fall,â âLive a Littleâ and âSomewhere With You,â among others. Pearce previously shared a snippet of her onstage duet with Chesney on TikTok. Relive the performance here:
