How to Help Your Pet Adjust with your Return to the Office
- As we return to normal, our pets may not like it
- Returning to work may be an adjustment for us, but it may be bigger for pets
- If you adopted a pet during COVID, chances are their anxiety will be very high when you are out of the house
- They may also like the quiet time. It all depends on the animal
- No matter what, prep your pet ahead of your return to work
- Steps include practicing independence, desensitizing the departure cues like keys jingling
- Don’t forget to give them a safe and cozy space and don’t make goodbyes a production
- While transitioning and afterwards, make sure you spend pre-work time with your pet
