STUDY: Some E-Cigs Crank Out Levels of Carcinogens That Rival Real Cigarettes

Posted May 6th, 2014 @ 11:12am

According to a new study, some e-cigarettes send out nasty cancer-causing chemicals in their vapor at pretty much the same levels as regular cigarettes. The problem is that some of the larger, tank-style e-cigs that vaporize liquid nicotine get so hot, they cause formaldehyde to form in the vapor they put out – which is bad.

Of course regular cigarettes are still worse, as they put out dozens of cancer-causing chemicals.

So for now, e-cigs aren’t perfect – but they’re the lesser of two evils. (Gizmodo)
