Small Plane Crashes in Helena

A small plane crashed near the Bessemer Airport Thursday afternoon. The plane went down on South Shades Crest Road in Helena.   One witness reported seeing a fireball.  Four people aboard the plane were injured. The victims were reported to be a couple, their teenage son, and the son's girlfriend.  They were pulled from the flaming wreckage by two men at the scene.   The plane was flying from Panama City, Fla. to Tennessee when it went down.   The plane was low on fuel at the time, authorities said.
