A subcommittee of the Alabama Democratic Party Tuesday rejected a challenge to the reelection of Jefferson County Commissioner Sandra Little Brown.  The challenge was filed by a supporter of Shelia Smoot.   The challenge claims that some absentee ballots were not counted.   That claim was disputed by the Jefferson County Probate Judge, Alan King, a Democrat, who said all votes were counted properly.   The county Democratic Party previously rejected the challenge.  Smoot's supporter, Ervin Hill, is now appealing to the state Democratic Party's executive committee, which meets Saturday.   Official results show Brown won by 26 votes.
